Bid Idea: God writes the lyrics of our souls in the Psalms. Psalm 1:1–6 1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6 for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Main point: The happy man is planted in the Lord. “Blessed” speaks to happiness and the state of bliss, happiness in completion. Delight is found in God and delight is found in the Word’s of God. Psalm 16:11 11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Five ways to be in God’s Word: Read Hear Meditate Memorize Study Psalm 27: 4 4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.
