Faith and Works

I Have Questions

By Aaron Taylor, May 18, 2025

Faith of Paul (Romans 4:1-3)

Romans 4:2 If Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about—but not before God.

Romans 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.

Genesis 15:6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

Works of James (James 4:21-24)

James 2:24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

James 2:21 Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works in offering Isaac his son on the altar?

Harmony in Tension

A working faith is a faith that works.

Romans 4:21 …because he was fully convinced that what God had promised, he was also able to do.
