In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - John 1:1



ēn “ imperfect tense which depicts continual existence, a continuous state, not a completed past





Whenever the beginning began, the Word already Was.




2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. - John 1:2-3



The Word is the Creative Cause of All Things



Στην αρχή ήταν ο Λόγος, και ο Λόγος ήταν με τον Θεό, και ο Λόγος ήταν Θεός - John 1:1 (Greek)



Λόγος = Logos





Word (Logos) is not a rational principle but a Divine Person.



“Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, (Genesis 1:26a)





The Word is Face-to-Face With the Father.



The Word Is God



  • God is self-existent
  • God is unchangeable
  • God is Eternal
  • God is omnipresent
  • God is Holy
  • God is Just
  • God is Gracious

“16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. - Colossians 1:16-20



Jesus is the foundation of all things—is He the foundation of all our things?"



“23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,”





Does our ‘Way to God’ Go Through Jesus?



Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6



Jesus is God. Is Jesus Your God?
