Awakening Love

Love Songs

By Paul Priddy, May 24, 2026

4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. 5 Sustain me with raisins; refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love.

  • Song of Solomon 2:4-5

7 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem,by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases. - Song of Solomon 2:7

Sexual Immorality = Anything that goes outside of God's design for sexual intimacy.

31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. - Ephesians 5:31-32

The purpose of two becoming one flesh is to teach us about the relationship between Jesus and us.

How we handle the gift of physical intimacy is a reflection of how we understand Jesus and His bride, the Church.

On my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not. 2 I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but found him not. 3 The watchmen found me as they went about in the city. “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?” 4 Scarcely had I passed them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me. 5 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases. - Song of Solomon 3:1-5

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved. - Ephesians 2:4-5

7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. - Ephesians 1:7

Because of Jesus, forgiveness is available.

There is not an exclusive list of sins, but there IS an exclusive Savior.
