Feet That are Quick to Rush Into Evil

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NASB1995) 16 There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, 19 A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

Galatians 5:16-18 (NASB1995) 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

The life of the church stays healthy with the movement of its people.

James 4:7 (NASB1995) 7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Submitting to God brings authority which causes the devil to flee.

James 4:8 (NASB1995) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

James 4:8 is a relational event that leaves no room for the devil to participate.

God doesn’t just tells where not to run, He completes the instruction with where to run.
