Kingdom Stewardship: What Will You Do with What You’ve Got? “Just Doing My Job” Luke 17:7–8 7 “Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? 8 Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? Luke 17:9–10 9 Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? 10 So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’” Point 1: Stewardship with the Heart “Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do?” (Luke 17:9) Kingdom stewardship starts with humble obedience, not recognition. Stop waiting for recognition to be obedient. What you do in private is seen by the One who rewards in eternity. Point 2: Faithful Service Is Our , Not a “So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’” (Luke 17:10) We don’t serve for approval; we serve from assignment. Fulfillment comes from doing what you were made to do. God doesn’t owe us anything, but He trusts us with everything. Point 3: in the Kingdom Looks Like Stewardship Faithfulness in little is what opens the door to more. When you realize who you serve, you’ll stop obsessing over who’s watching. God isn’t looking for perfect. He’s looking for present. He’s not asking for extraordinary. Just obedient. Kingdom Stewardship: What Will You Do with What You’ve Got?
