Walk This Way

Broken Mirrors

By Chad Grigsby, February 04, 2024

Broken people reflect a perfect God.

Genesis 5:21–24 - When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5–6 - By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken, he was commended as having pleased God.

You Value Intimacy Before Activity

Genesis 6:5 - “The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

You Practice Activity Out of Intimacy

Being in relationship with God means we act from his acceptance not for his acceptance.

Genesis 6:8–10 - But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Malachi 2:4-6 - So shall you know that I have sent this command to you, that my covenant with Levi may stand, says the LORD of hosts. My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him. It was a covenant of fear, and he feared me. He stood in awe of my name. True instruction was in his mouth, and no wrong was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity.

Proximity to God leads to activity for God

Resources for Spiritual Intimacy

Think Alignment over addition.

You Receive Intimacy Through Faith

Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
