What are some examples of hard things in the past that have caused people to consider God and to pursue spiritual paths more passionately? What are things people tend to give God credit or blame for? How does the sovereignty of God encourage or challenge your faith? Give examples of God’s actions revealing His hand throughout history (especially in view of Israel’s history and Jesus). What are some of the key truths that have been communicated by God’s actions throughout history (give special consideration to Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and modern day Israel)? What evidence exists that God is able to predict the future before it happens (consider the first Christmas, Easter, and prophecies regarding Israel)? How compelling is that body of evidence? How has God’s perspective helped you to find meaning and purpose as you reflect on the pains of the past (Romans 8:28)? Are there any idols God wants you recognize and remove right now? How does God want you to respond in view of the revelation of His sovereignty, His activity in history, His knowledge of the future, and His perspective on the past?
