Every Good Reason to Stand Strong

Isaiah 51:1-23

By Pastor Kelly Mahoney, September 10, 2023

Stand strong by looking:

  1. Back to you got here and formed you.
2. Forward to your sure in the end.
3. Inside to address the of this moment.

Applying God's Word to Life

  1. Share an example of a time you stood up, when you were pressured to sit down? How about a time when you wish you would have stood strong?
  2. What gave you confidence to take a stand, in the face of pressure from others, in the moments when you stood strong?
  3. What caused you to give in or give up in the moments when you failed?
  4. Tell the story of God’s people and how they became who they are?
  5. Share your story of who you were, how you encountered God’s grace and the goodness of the gospel, and where God has brought you to?
  6. How has the hope of “I just need to last a little longer” helped you to overcome a trial or temptation in the past?
  7. What emotions have moved you to give up, give in, compromise, or cave to the pressure of others in the past?
  8. How could dealing honestly with your fears and feelings help you to overcome the trials and temptations that are sure to come in the future?
  9. Which do you think God wants you to focus on more right now; His past faithfulness, His future promises, or the present emotions tugging at you?
  10. How and through whom will you find the strength to stand strong in this season of your life?
