Uncommon Commitment

Ruth 1:1-22

By Pastor Kelly, November 10, 2024

Let’s follow Ruth’s uncommon commitment to:

  1. in a perverse generation.
  1. to people in need.
  1. care for family.

Applying God's Word to Life

  1. When have you found yourself having a pity party of one? Why?

  2. What kinds of “stinking thinking” goes through your mind when hard things come your way?

  3. What helps you get out of the pit of despair?

  4. What do you think of the variety of choices made by Elimelech, Naomi, Orpah, and Ruth? Which of their choices stand out compared to each other or their generation?

  5. What potential difficulties did Naomi, Orpah and Ruth all face?

  6. When have you received significant help from others? When have you been a significant help to others?

  7. What kind of a difference can we make by committing to serve other people in their time of need?

  8. What’s so powerful about a covenant as compared to a contractual arrangement?

  9. In what ways does the Lord want His people to stand out in our generation? How do you know?

  10. What are you inspired to do as a result of hearing Ruth’s story today?

  11. How will you live an uncommon example with the Lord’s help?
