Applying God's Word to Life

  1. Describe your first encounters with someone who became a very significant part of your life. What did you notice about them?

  2. Tell of a time when your first impression was completely right and a time when it was completely wrong? What confirmed or denied your first impression?

  3. What situations or circumstances require us to discern another person’s character? What helps us to be wise in this area?

  4. What impact can our words have on others? Why?

  5. What are examples of sayings that drive home the importance of agreement between our words and actions? What are each of these sayings trying to emphasize?

  6. What are examples of words that don’t seem fitting to come out of a Christians mouth? Why?

  7. What actions are becoming or unbecoming for a Christian?

  8. What stood out the most about Ruth’s character to you? How about Boaz? What parts would God want you to emulate?

  9. What have your words and actions been saying about your character lately?

  10. What might the Lord want you to change about your attitude, answers, or actions as you consider Ruth & Boaz?
