Following Jesus Brings Us to Our Knees

Luke 4:37-44; 5:15-16; 6:12-16

By Pastor Kelly, February 23, 2025

Jesus modeled the:

1) to bless others.

2) for a busy life.

3) to connect with the Father.

4) brings to our choices.

Applying God's Word to Life

  1. Describe an overwhelmingly busy day—could be in general terms or a specific day you have in mind.

  2. What do you want and need more than anything after a long day?

  3. How would you describe your understanding of what it means to be a Christian? What is the focus of a Christian’s life?

  4. Put yourself in the disciples sandals as you read the gospels. What do you see and hear and what stands out about Jesus’ example?

  5. How would you describe the relationship between your level of busyness as it relates to your level of prayerfulness? Why?

  6. How does your location, posture, and the proximity of other people impact the atmosphere for your prayer-life?

  7. What are some of the techniques and insights you’ve gained over the years that have helped your prayer-life?

  8. How might prayer help you respond better to the clamoring requests of the crowd? How about when making decisions?

  9. What did you most need to see from Jesus’ example today?

  10. What do you think would help you grow your prayer-life today?

  11. How will you prioritize prayer and God’s purposes this week?
