Jesus’ invitation to “fish” calls us to: —close, intimate apprenticeship to Jesus. —supportive, learning community with other believers. —redemptive relationships founded on humility, compassion, and genuine love for all people. Applying God's Word to Life How would you describe your interest in fishing? All in? Tell about a party or gathering of people that you loved? How about one that was a real stretch for you? What individuals or groups might you be tempted to think you’re “above” associating with or you’re afraid to be “infected” by? Which sinful struggles do you most / least relate to (Rom. 1:20-32; 1 Tim. 1:8-11)? What does it look and feel like to be a friend to someone? How does caring for someone show up within a friendship? Which group do you most identify with: a) The “righteous” who need not repent? b) The “sick” who need Jesus to make them well? c) The “sick” who aren’t ready to be made well just yet? d) The “Physician’s” Assistant / Fishing Captain’s First Mate? When have you drifted into a “I know better than God” mentality like the Pharisees (Luke 5:30-32)? How might the Lord want to care for people thru you this week? How will you reach out and touch people for Jesus now? Announcements Women’s Prayer Brunch: Saturday, April 12 at 10:00a.m. hosted by Joyce Doughty (911 Mt Lookout Hts Drive, Glenwood).
