Faithfulness in Trying Times

Titus 1:9-2:1

By Pastor Kelly Mahoney, January 18, 2026

God’s people are called to lead by:

  1. to God’s Word.
  1. others through sound teachings.
  1. those who oppose sound doctrine.

Applying God's Word to Life

  1. Describe a truly scary storm that you lived to tell about? What made it so scary?
  2. What helps us get through the intense storms that rage around us?
  3. What are the current elements of the storm from your point of view?
  4. What is solid enough to anchor your life to? Why?
  5. Who have been the steady voices in your life, in culture, and in history that have helped people to navigate the storms?
  6. What are some of the cultural characteristics of the water we are swimming in that God would want us to wisely discern?
  7. Why is it important to be for something, and not merely against something?
  8. What does it look like to teach and model what Jesus was for?
  9. What have been some of the false teachings through the years that stood against the clear teachings of God’s word? 10)What are some of the deceptive and unethical ways that people use to persuade you to come over to their side?
11)How can a Christian model sound teaching using sound methods that do not call their claims into question?
12)Where are you currently leading others to and how might the Lord be calling for a course correction in your life?
