God's Mission & Methods for Growth

Acts 6:1-10, 8:4-5; Ephesians 4:11-12

By Pastor Kelly Mahoney, April 26, 2026

God’s mission calls His church to:

  1. all people to take their next step.
2) what makes the most difference for Him.
3) ministry opportunities for our good and God’s glory.

Applying God's Word to Life

  1. Describe a group, team or organization that you enjoyed. What did you like about it?
  2. What was your role in the group, team, or organization? What were you working together to accomplish? How had your role before you joined?
  3. To what degree are you personally compelled by Christ’s mission (Acts. 1:8)?
  4. What do you find beneficial or glorious about God’s method for growing us as he grows His kingdom?
  5. What are some of your passions, gifts, or things you have a heart for concerning the body of Christ?
  6. As you think about Christ’s mission and the body of Christ, what are some things that would likely be neglected if you did not do them?
  7. When you consider your time, talents, passions and gifts, what are some things that you would be wise to allow others to do instead?
  8. Have you ever filled out Hope’s “Invitation to Engage in Biblical Community”? Would you be willing to do so using the QR code or paper?
  9. What might the Lord want you to start doing or stop doing so that His body might be built up in greater ways?
  10. How will you say “Yes” to His methods for growth today?
