We believe that God will raise the dead bodily and judge the world, assigning the unbeliever to condemnation and eternal conscious punishment and the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth, to the praise of His glorious grace. Applying God's Word to Life What’s something you were really glad you found out ahead of time—or wish you had—because finding out too late would have meant missing something important or experiencing something you could have avoided? What stands out to you about the way Jesus describes the separation that is coming (Matthew 24:40-41, 46-50; 25:10-12, 40-41, 46)? Why do you think it matters that these warnings come from Jesus Himself? How can we make sure we are on the right path to eternal life (John 14:6)? What is personal about what’s promised to those who respond to Jesus’ invitation now (John 14:2-3; Rev. 21:1-5; 22:1-7)? What do these verses tell us about when eternal life starts and what it is meant to look like now (John 17:3; 1 John 5:10-13; Phil. 1:21-25)? What part of John's picture of life with God makes you long for what is coming (Rev. 21:1-5; 22:1-5)? Why?
