Applying God's Word to Life

  1. What are the things people value the most in our society – things most people believe we should pursue if we want to be truly blessed in this life?
  2. According to the rules of society, who do we expect to inherit the earth?
  3. How does Jesus’ desire for us land differently if we understood the intent of the gospel was to free us from having any concern for doing what it is right?
  4. How well does the outline express the posture Jesus desires of his followers? How might you word it differently to better capture what He said?
  5. How does Jesus’ description of the character He desires for us compare to what we naturally value in our society?
  6. What stood out to you the most as you listened to Jesus today?
  7. Which of the Beatitudes did Jesus put his finger on as the one he wants you to grow in the most right now? How will you follow His lead in this?
