Teach Us To Pray

(Luke 11:1 NLT) Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

Your Will Be Done

(Matthew 6:10 NIV) Your Kingdom come, your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven.

(1 Chronicles 4:9-10 NLT) Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

1. Pray for

(Psalm 5:2 NIV) Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

(Genesis 12:2 NLT) I will bless you … and you will be a blessing to others.

(Galatians 3:28-29 NLT) There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.

(Matthew 7:11 NLT) So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

2. Pray for

(Ephesians 1:17-18 NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.

(Ephesians 3:20 NIV) Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us

3. Pray for

(Acts 11:21 NIV) The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.

(2 Corinthians 3:5-6) It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life.

4. Pray for

(1 Peter 5:8 NLT) Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

(Psalm 3:1-3 NLT) O Lord, I have so many enemies; so many are against me. So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.

(Matthew 6:13 NLT) And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
