LEAD: To Transformation

Level Up (Week 3)

By John Youell, Jr., May 10, 2025

(Colossians 1:28-29 NIV) He is the one we proclaim (LOVE), admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom (LEARN), so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ (LEAD). To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

  • LOVE: fully and truly.

  • LEARN: His and His .

  • LEAD: To Total .

(2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT) ...anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

(Romans 12:2 NLT) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

(Ephesians 4:21-24 NLT) ... throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

The Messiah in the Mess

(Luke 10:38-42 NIV) As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.

The mess will…

(Luke 10:40a NIV) But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.

  • make you .

(Luke 10:40b NIV) She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself?

  • make you .

(Luke 10:40c NIV) Tell her to help me!”

The Messiah in the Mess is of

(Luke 10:41-42 NIV) “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

(John 12:1-3 NIV) Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

  • Transformative Worship is .

(Psalm 47:1 NLT) Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!

(Psalm 134:2 NIV) Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.

(Psalm 61:1 NIV) Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

  • Transformative Worship is .

(John 12:4-5 NIV) But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.”

    • How much goes into your worship?

    • How much do you give to worship?

    • How much are you willing to in worship?
