The ability to remember is one of the God gives us. By remembering people, places and events that have shaped and impacted our lives, we keep things alive in our heart and mind. Memories can encourage us, inspire us and empower us as we move forward in life. Memorial Day, which began in 1868, over 157 years ago, has given us an opportunity to remember again and again those who died to provide us our freedom as Americans. In 1971 Congress designated the last Monday of May to be the day we remember to remember those who have died. People remember loved ones who have passed by placing flags, flowers and other memorials at the graves of their departed loved ones. is a theme throughout the Bible because we as humans tend to forget and overlook the blessings God has provided us unless we keep them alive and active in our hearts and minds. There are three specific things for us to remember to enjoy the benefits and blessings of God in our life. 1. Remember to to God so He can YOU. (Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV) Call to me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know 2. Remember to in the Lord so He can YOU. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths 3. Remember to the Lord so He can YOU (Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV) You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers as it is this day. Today we remember the ultimate warrior, freedom fighter and deliverer . (1 Corinthians 11:26 NKJV) As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim (you remember to celebrate) the Lord’s death until He comes. As you partake remember: Jesus died to you. (John 3:16 NKJV) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus rose from the dead to give you ! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Jesus has prepared a for you in His Kingdom! (John 14:1-3 NKJV) Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come gain and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
