Main Idea: Jesus, God’s Servant, is Worthy of Exaltation

  1. Because he Saves the Nations (52:13-15)
    1. Though His People Initially Believed He was Unworthy (53:1-3)
      1. Because He Died for all our Iniquities (53:4-6)
    2. Though His People Initially Killed Him Unjustly (53:7-9)
  2. Because he Accomplishes the Will of God (53:10-12)
  1. Jesus, God’s servant, is worthy of exaltation Because he Saves the Nations (52:13-15)
  1. Jesus, God’s servant, is worthy of exaltation Though His People Initially Believed he was Unworthy (53:1-3)
  1. Jesus, God’s servant, is Worthy of Exaltation Because he Died for all our Iniquities (53:4-6)

Christ’s substitutionary atonement:

  • He has borne our griefs
  • He was pierced for our transgressions
  • He was crushed for our iniquities
  • He was chastised so that we have peace
  • He was wounded so that we are healed
