Those who are truly believers in Jesus Christ will hold their faith in Him in a way that is consistent with true faith: Believers should hold their faith in Jesus Christ by not dimishing works. Believers should not diminish works because diminishing works is not practically convincing. Can saving faith be demonstrated apart from works? (v. 18) Can faith save if it’s just agreement about certain truths? (v. 19) What sort of faith do you have? Are you holding your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ without diminishing works? How does a true believer hear James’s instruction and exhortation?
