Maintaining Disagreement...with Believers

Should we avoid disagreement with other believers at all cost, or are there scenarios where we should maintain disagreement with them?

Is there ever a time not only to maintain disagreement, but to also potentially allow such disagreement to impact the relationship?

  1. Maintain disagreement, but draw near to them…

...when believers hold different debatable opinions

Why should we welcome other believers with different opinions?

  • God is welcoming to them and me
  • God is their master—I am not
  • God is the judge of both of us
  • God is working in them and me
  1. Maintain disagreement, and distance yourself from them…

...when another believer is irreconcilably disagreeable (Acts 15:30-41)

...when another “believer” is unrepentantly disobedient (1 Cor 5:1-13)

...when another believer is irresponsibly disorderly (2 Thess 3:6-15)

...when another “believer” is unremittingly divisive (Titus 3:8-11)
