1. The Risen Jesus is Returning

2. Trusting Jesus changed our identity

  • When we trust Jesus to make peace with God, and we become .
  • We belonged to the darkness, but we are transferred (Colossians 1:9-14)
  • We were dead “children of wrath” but God made us alive with Jesus (Ephesians 2:1-7)

3. Our new identity changes our practice

  • Abide: with Christ, be to Jesus, your from Him, !
  • PRACTICE is the course of discussion in the following verses (1 John 3:4-10)
    • “...whoever ‘I KNOW Him’ but does not keep His commandments…” (1 John 2:4)
    • “...whoever loves his brother abides in the light…” (1 John 2:10)
    • Keeping this command gives us confidence when Jesus returns! (1 John 2:28)

We love our neighbors with confidence when Jesus makes us God’s children.

  • What future harvest are we cultivating today?
  • What clothes from our old family do we need to throw away?
  • What clothes from our Father should be our daily dress?
  • Who do we need our Father’s help to love this week?
