2 Corinthians 7:2-16

  1. We get tripped up if we stay weighed down by our past. (7:8-9)
  2. We get tripped up when we think feelings are the same as real change. (7:10)
  3. We get tripped up when we miss chances to learn (and grow) because feedback feels scary. (7:11-13)
  4. We get tripped up when we choose to do life alone. (7:14-16)

REFLECTION & DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  • Paul mentions ‘godly grief’ that leads to repentance. How is this different from worldly guilt, and how can we distinguish between the two in our own lives?
  • Paul rejoices in the Corinthians' response to his correction. How can we cultivate a heart that is receptive to spiritual feedback, even when it's uncomfortable?
  • Pastor Matt emphasized the importance of community in spiritual growth. In what ways might ‘doing life alone’ hinder our walk with Christ?
