The aim of the church is: To make who love & live like . Loving & Living like Jesus is: Seeds Amongst Listening Ears (Matt. 13:1-9) Who? Anyone who wants to listen. How? By being relatable. Everyone was familiar with sowing seeds. What? He gives them something to meditate on and ask questions about. A Disciple of Jesus: & Asks Questions (Matt. 13:10) Matthew 13:11-12 - The seeker will understand more, while the passive will not. Matthew 13:15 – Like hardened soil, passive people allow their hearts to grow hard. Jesus wants them to hear and understand and be healed by Him! Making Disciples of Jesus involves: with Others to Cultivate an Understanding of God’s Word (Matt. 13:18-23) Matthew 13:19 – Recognize people who do not understand because they do not want this. Matthew 13:20-21 – Some people allow suffering & hardships to harden their hearts towards God. Matthew 13:22 – Some people allow worldly desires & riches to harden their hearts towards God. Matthew 13:23 – As a church we want to create a culture where anyone with a teachable heart can hear and understand God’s Word. This is worth all of our efforts and time! The fruit will impact lives. The seed will be passed on to the next generation!
