Call to Worship Isaiah 58:6-8 Scout Member

This is the fast that God desires:
releasing wicked restraints, untying the ropes of a yoke, setting free the mistreated, and breaking every yoke?
Isn’t it sharing your bread with the hungry and bringing the homeless poor into your house, covering the naked when you see them, and not hiding from your own family? Then your light will break out like the dawn, and you will be healed quickly.

Hymn The Battle Hymn of the Republic Vs 1-3 UMH 717

Opening Prayer
O God, your will is that all your children should grow into the fullness of life. We thank you for the ministry of scouting and for all the adults who help our youth grow in love with our natural world and in love and care of our community. We thank parents and grandparents for entrusting their youth in this ministry. Amen.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.

Congregational Appreciation
Unless otherwise noted on the Sponsor Sheet located on the welcome table in the Gathering Space, silk flowers will be used by the Altar Guild.

If you would like to help place flowers on the Altar, consider a donation to the flower fund. The altar guild would like to invite you to sponsor the altar flowers. Each vase costs $25. When you sponsor the altar flowers, you may do so in memory or in honor of someone or a special event or anniversary. Go to stoutmemorial.org/altarflowers for more information.

The Stout Memorial Altar Flower ministry needs smiling faces to deliver Sunday flowers. A sign-up sheet is on the welcome desk in the Gathering space along with directions for delivery. Presenting flowers helps to create smiles.
