Congregational Appreciation The flowers on the altar are given to glorify God in celebration of Bob and Millie Moss’ 65th Wedding Anniversary which occurred August 19th. Despite the revelation Peter does not fully comprehend Jesus’ fate; indeed there is little available within the tradition to account for a suffering Messiah. Peter’s rebuke suggests a harsh critique of Jesus’ expectations. Jesus’ response is equally forceful, as he associates Peter with Satan, a reminder of Jesus’ earlier temptation. How quickly the character of Peter has shifted from a rock to an agent of Satan.
