Kingdom Finance Part 12

Trusting God in my Finances

By Pastor John L. Franklin Jr., September 03, 2023

Mark 12:41 And He sat down opposite the [temple] treasury, and began watching how the people were putting money into the [a]treasury. And many rich people were putting in [b]large sums. 42 A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a [c]mite. 43 Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, this poor widow put in [proportionally] more than all the contributors to the treasury. 44 For they all contributed from their surplus, but she, from her poverty, put in all she had, all she had to live on.”

  • Walking in the blessing of God requires ABSOLUTE trust in the NATURE of God.

  • If I do not trust the nature of God, it is impossible for me to release everything into His care.

  • These verses show us the nature of a radical giver, because its not the size of what is GIVEN but rather the size of what is WITHHELD that reflects the heart of the giver

Matthew 6:19 Do not store up for yourselves [material] treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart [your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers] will be also. 22 The eye is the lamp of the body; so if your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive], your whole body will be full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts]. 23 But if your eye is bad [spiritually blind], your whole body will be full of darkness [devoid of God’s precepts]. So if the [very] light inside you [your inner self, your heart, your conscience] is darkness, how great and terrible is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].

  • We are either investing in Gods economy that always brings increase and joy or we are investing in a world”s economy that always brings loss and destruction.

  • God doesn’t have all of my heart until He is Lord over EVERY area of my life, including my finances.

  • Our perspective on giving shapes our entire view on life. If our live revolves around generosity, then that generosity will shape every aspect of our lives.

  • The verse doesn’t say you can’t/won’t have money, possessions, fame, or status, it says you can’t SERVE or VALUE anything above God.
