Mothers Day

Mom's Matter

By Paul Wirth, May 08, 2026

Psalm 34:18 (ESV) 18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Isaiah 66:13 (ESV) 13 As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

• Choose Courage Over Fear

Exodus 2:1–2 (ESV) 2 Now a man from the house of Levi went and took as his wife a Levite woman. 2 The woman conceived and bore a son, and when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months.

Exodus 1:22 (ESV) 22 Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, “Every son that is born to the Hebrews you shall cast into the Nile, but you shall let every daughter live.”

Hebrews 11:23 (ESV) 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.

Courage is not personality driven it is faith driven.

2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV) 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Galatians 6:9 (ESV) 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

• Trust God With What You Cannot Control

Exodus 2:3 (ESV) 3 When she could hide him no longer, she took for him a basket made of bulrushes and daubed it with bitumen and pitch. She put the child in it and placed it among the reeds by the river bank.

The hardest lesson in parenting is knowing where our responsibility ends and where trust begins.

Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Psalm 127:3 (ESV) 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

• God Uses Ordinary Moms in Extraordinary Ways

God works through ordinary obedience in extraordinary ways.

2 Timothy 1:5 (ESV) 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.

Deuteronomy 6:6–7 (ESV) 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Never underestimate what God can do through consistent faithfulness.
