Propagate- Week 1

Come and See

By Paul Wirth, May 14, 2026

Propagate- means to spread, reproduce, multiply, or cause something to grow and expand.

John 20:21 (ESV) 21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

The Gospel was never meant to stop with us. It was always meant to spread through us.

• Come and See: The Lamb of God- John 1

John 1:1(ESV) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Jesus is not simply part of the story; He is the source of the story.

John 1:3 (ESV) 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Colossians 1:16 (ESV) 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

John 1:14 (ESV) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:29 (ESV) 29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

John 1:37(ESV) 37 The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.

John 1:41 (ESV) 41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ).

John 1:45 (ESV) 45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

John 1:46 (ESV) 46 Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Healthy disciples naturally propagate faith.

• Come and See: From Empty to Overflowing- John 2

John 2:11 (ESV) 11 This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

John 2:17 (ESV) 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

John 2:19–21 (ESV) 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body.

Propagation requires transformation, not just participation.

• Come and See: Dead Things Don’t Grow - John 3

John 3:3 (ESV) 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Salvation is not self-improvement; it is new creation.

John 3:5–6 (ESV) 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:8 (ESV) 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

John 3:14–15 (ESV) 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

John 3:16–17 (ESV) 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 3:18 (ESV) 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 3:30 (ESV) 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Propagation happens when our lives point away from ourselves and toward Christ.

• Come and See: Jesus Changes Thirsty People- John 4

John 4:3–4 (ESV) 3 he left Judea and departed again for Galilee. 4 And he had to pass through Samaria.

John 4:14 (ESV) 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4:23 (ESV) 23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.

John 4:26 (ESV) 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”

John 4:28–30 (ESV) 28 So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” 30 They went out of the town and were coming to him.

John 4:39–42 (ESV) 39 Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his word. 42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”
