HOPE LIVES - Forgiveness & Redemption Sometimes external challenges get in the way of hope. But sometimes our own failures and mistakes get in the way of hope. Our own guilt and shame can make hope seem like a distant dream. This week, reflect on God's grace, mercy, and forgivenss. Receive the new life, and new hope, Jesus offers. Day 1: Forgiveness Reading: John 21:1-19 Peter's story of denial and redemption reminds us that nothing is too big for God to forgive. Like Peter, we may carry shame and guilt from past mistakes, feeling unworthy of God's love. Yet Jesus seeks us out, meets us in our brokenness, and offers new life. Are there any areas where you feel unforgivable? How might receiving and believing God's forgiveness change your perspective and actions today? Day 2: From Failure to Purpose Reading: Acts 2:14-41 Peter's transformation from a man hiding in shame to boldly proclaiming the Gospel on Pentecost is a powerful testament to God's redeeming work. Our greatest failures can become the foundation for our most significant purpose when surrendered to God. Consider a past failure or weakness in your life. How might God be inviting you to use that experience to minister to others or grow in your faith? Day 3: Walking on Water - Stepping Out in Faith Reading: Matthew 14:22-33 Peter's attempt to walk on water illustrates both the power of faith and the reality of doubt. When we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, we can do the impossible. But like Peter, we often let fear and circumstances overwhelm us. What “impossible” situation are you facing today? How might Jesus be calling you to step out in faith? Day 4: Recognizing Jesus in Our Midst Reading: Luke 24:13-35 The disciples on the road to Emmaus, like Peter by the sea, didn't immediately recognize the risen Jesus. Sometimes our pain, disappointment, or preoccupations can blind us to God's presence. Yet Jesus walks alongside us, even when we're unaware. Today, practice intentional awareness of God's presence. Where might Jesus be showing up in unexpected ways in your life? How can you cultivate a heart more attuned to recognizing him? Day 5: Restored for a Purpose Reading: 1 Peter 5:6-11 Peter's journey from failure to faithful leader culminated in him shepherding the early church and encouraging believers facing persecution. God's restoration in our lives always has a greater purpose - to equip and empower us for mission. Reflect on how God has worked in your life. How has God used your experiences, both positive and negative, to shape you? Pray, asking Jesus to reveal how he might use your story to encourage others and advance kingdom of heaven today.
