MY NOTES

5-Day Devotional – Lead Like Jesus

Day 1: Always Leading

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:1

"The question in life is not if we are a leader. The question is what kind of leader we want to be."

We influence others whether we realize it or not. Jesus calls us to lead with intention, reflecting his love.

  • Who are the people you influence most often?
  • How do you want them to experience Jesus through you?

Day 2: Leadership Upside Down

Scripture: John 13:14–15

"Jesus never used his leadership to subjugate. He used it only to unite, encourage, welcome, heal, love, and serve."

True leadership is not about control but about service. Jesus showed this by washing feet.

  • What does servant leadership look like in your life today?
  • Where is Jesus calling you to be humble and serve?

Day 3: Countercultural Leadership

Scripture: Matthew 20:26–28

"It is really challenging to lead like Jesus...there will be pushback."

Leading like Jesus is not always popular. But his way brings lasting life, peace, and hope.

  • Where have you seen resistance to Christ-like leadership?
  • How is God inviting you to hold on to the Jesus-model of leadership in spite of the pushback from the world?

Day 4: Transformed Leaders

Scripture: John 21:17

"Paul used to rely on his own credentials...but after Jesus, his main message was: ‘Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.’"

Jesus transformed Peter, Thomas, and Paul into leaders who built the church. He transforms us too.

  • Where has Jesus already reshaped your leadership?
  • Where do you still need his transformation?

Day 5: The Breadkeeper

Scripture: John 6:35

"Jesus, the bread of life, is the kind of Lord and leader who doesn’t hoard what he has, but gives it away lavishly."

Jesus is the Breadkeeper—lavishly providing life and abundance. His leadership gives us freedom to love and serve boldly.

  • How has Jesus provided for you as Bread of Life?
  • What can you give away this week as a reflection of his leadership?
