FAITH UNDER FIRE Week 2 — When the Heat Turns Up Daniel 3:19–23 BIG IDEA Obedience does not always the heat. Sometimes causes the fire to burn hotter. SCRIPTURE Daniel 3:19–23 “Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious… and commanded that the furnace be heated seven times more than it was usually heated.” MESSAGE SUMMARY Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego God—and the fire got hotter. The furnace was heated seven times hotter after their stand. Faithful obedience sometimes triggers resistance, opposition, and pressure. Obedience is not rewarded by —it is rewarded by God’s presence. Pressure Reveals What We Truly Trust. The soldiers who threw them in were destroyed by the fire. The faithful were in it. Fire whether our trust is in circumstances or in God. God Is Still Sovereign When the Heat Rises. Even when the king was enraged, God was still in control. No amount of heat can cancel God’s purpose. KEY TRUTH The fire you fear may be the place God reveals His power. CONCLUSION They were bound and thrown into the fire. But the fire did not consume them—it freed them. What was meant to destroy them became the place of . PERSONAL RESPONSE Are you obeying God even though the heat has increased? Will you remain faithful when obedience becomes costly?
